Cranksgiving

UPDATED LOCATION: Cranksgiving 2023 will take place at Color Burst Park (6000 Merriweather Drive) in DTC, NOT at Azlon Plaza (6100 Merriweather Drive).

We’ve teamed up with the Downtown Columbia Partnership to present our third annual Cranksgiving, a local food drive and family biking event. Cranksgiving is a national initiative dubbed “a food drive on two wheels.”  The event is designed to provide active recreation for local residents, raise awareness about the county’s bikable pathway system and generate food items for individuals and families in need.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, November 4th from 9AM to 12Noon in Downtown Columbia and will benefit Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center. Participants will bicycle from their homes to the Cranksgiving 2023 drop off site in the Merriweather District of Downtown Columbia, picking up food items along that way at nearby grocery stores. There is no cost to participate other than the groceries you choose to donate. Though there is no registration, you can let us know you’re coming here.

The first 200 participants will receive an event t-shirt.

Biking directions to Color Burst Park from various locations in the county can be found here.

Let your two wheels provide their three squares!
